BBL Live : Hobart Hurricanes Vs Sydney Thunder | HOH VS THU Big Bash League, Streaming Willow Tv 11 – January 2020

SYDNEY THUNDER
  • After a strong start to BBL|09 which saw Sydney Thunder pick up seven points from their opening five games, they are currently in the midst of a three-match losing streak that they will be desperate to snap against the Hurricanes.
  • They could only muster 145/5 last time out against Melbourne Stars which did not prove to be anywhere near enough, largely down to the fact that their excellent top order was unable to score quick enough as Khawaja, Hales and Ferguson combined for 94 runs from 82 balls which is slow by their standards.
  • They remain without Chris Green who serves a suspension for an illegal bowling action while Liam Hatcher comes into the squad for Ollie Davies who is away with Australian’s under-19 team.

HOBART HURRICANES
  • Hobart Hurricanes have lost three of their last four matches in BBL|09 and they will be glad to see the back of Brisbane Heat who have inflicted their last two losses which has seen them drop to second-from-last in the ladder.
  • Matthew Wade returned to action to skipper the side last time out after Test duty and he was in excellent form hitting 61 from 46 balls at the top of the order but nobody else scored more than 17 runs and their total of 126/9 was nowhere near enough against the formidable Brisbane Heat batting line-up.
  • They have made two changes to their 13-man squad for this match as wicketkeeper-batsman Jake Doran and fast bowler Jake Reed have come into the group as Mac Wright and David Moody drop out although there is every chance it will be the same eleven.
THE PREDICTION
Neither Hobart Hurricanes or Sydney Thunder come into this game with any form behind them and both desperately need a win in the race for the top four places. In terms of individual form of their players, it is Sydney Thunder who arguably have the slight edge with the Hurricanes’ batting in particularly poor form. The hosts have to be favoured here with their top three batsmen far stronger than what the Hurricanes have to offer and that should make the difference.
