Burundi national team of seniors Intamba Mu Rugamba (Swallows) progressed to the final of the 2020 Bangabandhu Gold Cup after stunning Bangladesh (the host nation) 3-0 in the semi-final played on Thursday, January 23, 2020, at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka.
Burundi Swallows left the pitch with three points to move onto the final of underway tournament organized by the football federation of Bangladesh.
Burundi’s victory against Bangladesh comes thanks to 3 goals scored by Jospin Nshimirimana.
Born on 21 December 2001, the Black Eagle midfield scored his opening goal in the 43rd minute before netting the second in 45th minutes at the end of the first half.
The 18-year old scored his third goal to break the hearts of the hosts in the 79th minute.
The match ended in a 3-0 win over the host. Jospin was selected as the best player of the match as he now tops the tournament as the best scorer with 7 goals scored.

The 2020 Bangabandhu Gold Cup or 2020 Bangabandhu Cup is an international football tournament organized and hosted by the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF).
The tournament was named Bangabandhu as a tribute to Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The ongoing competition is the 6th edition with six teams such as Palestine, Sri Lanka, Burundi, Seychelles, Mauritius and the hosts Bangladesh.
The tournament kicked off on 15 January ant it is going to end on 25 January 2020.
Palestine are the defending champions. They were crowned champions to lift up the trophy after beating Tajikistan 4–3 in a penalty shoot-out after regulation time and extra time ended in a 0–0 draw on 12 October 2018.
