Shreyas Iyer has emerged as a very good option at number four but the team is still looking for powerful options down the order.

Rohit Sharma is back in the squad after resting for the T20 series against Sri Lanka. He will take up the opener’s position alongside one of KL Rahul or Shikhar Dhawan. This is a tough question that India has to answer and we don’t think shunting Rahul down the order is a real option anymore.

We have a feeling that India is going to start with Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul with Shikhar Dhawan being asked to wait for his return. Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, and Rishab Pant will be the next three batsmen. Pant has been a bit inconsistent and has struggled to understand what is needed of him.

Kedar Jadhav is the incumbent at the number 6 position and should start this series, although, we believe that Manish Pandey is a good option as well.

Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Shami, Kuldeep Yadav, and Shardul Thakur are the players we expect to feature in this bowling attack. Navdeep Saini and Yuzvendra Chahal are likely to be the ones missing out, which makes the Indian bench strength pretty strong.
