Watford seem to be raising their game right when it’s needed the most. They may have been held to a draw in the first leg, but the PL outfit will take out all of their might as they pursue an entry into the fourth round, against Tranmere, who ply their trade in the League One.
Tranmere vs Watford Head-to-head (h2h)
- The last time these two met, spoils were shared with a 3-3 scoreline.
- Four of the previous five games had goals from both teams.
- Watford have conceded two or more goals in all of their visits to this stadium.
- The guests are yet to record a win at this venue since 1998.
Tranmere vs Watford Prediction
Watford were cruising to the next round comfortably with an incredible first-half performance in the first leg. They raced to a 3-0 lead by the time the game clock reached 34 minutes.
However, the visitors made an attempt for a late comeback, being inspired from the overconfidence of the Premier League team. Tranmere scored three goals after the 65th minute to share the spoils with a 3-3 scoreline, and thus enforce a replay.
This Tuesday however, Watford will be careful as to not let any careless mistakes take away their chance to progress further. They are still the favorites to deliver a huge win, considering their presence in the top flight of English hierarchy, which is widely considered to be the toughest league in the world.
On the other hand, their counterparts Tranmere are placed in the relegation zone of the third rung of English Football, the League One.
On top of that, current form too favors the PL outfit. Watford are unbeaten in their last six straight matches, and scored two or more goals in five of these match-ups. Also do note that the team scored thrice or more in three of their preceding four games.
On the road, the last match-day, they registered a 0-3 victory over fellow Premier League squad, Bournemouth.
On the contrary, Tranmere were winless in their previous six overall matches, and remained winless in eight of their last nine games. At home, they are on a run of three winless match-ups in a row, and they conceded six goals from their last two appearances alone at this venue.
Do also understand that the team let in three or more goals in three of their previous six overall fixtures, and two or more goals in four of their preceding six.
Considering all these observations, it’s rightfully expected that Watford will record a huge win this Tuesday, and make amends for the 3-3 draw in the first leg.
