MATCH PREVIEW

WEST INDIES

West Indies looked like a mere shadow of like they did in the ODI series as their bowlers were thwarted all around the park by Irish batsmen. Bowling first on a ground with smallish boundaries and an excellent surface to bat on, West Indies bowlers were smashed over 93 runs in the first six overs.
Just when the Windies were staring at a total in excess of 230, DJ Bravo weaved his magic in his comeback game. He removed Kevin O'Brien on the third delivery of his first over. Dwayne Bravo triggered an Irish collapse, thus bringing his side into the business. Bravo, coupled with Hayden Walsh, stemmed the flow of runs and restricted Ireland to a total of 207, which at one time apeared to be at least 230.
While West Indies got some momentum going for them with an excellent performance in the death overs, they still had to chase down a total of tall order. Their batsmen needed to score quickly and do that for a span of twenty overs. West Indies are accustomed to score runs at ten runs and over and they did the same for most part of their chase as well. They were 105 for 2 after 10 overs and looking all set to chase the total down with Pollard and Nicholas Pooran still at crease. They, however, kept losing wickets at regular intervals as match continued to swing both ways. Despite a brief cameo from Sherfane Rutherford towards the end, West Indies were left three runs short.

IRELAND

It's been a while Since Ireland started playing against top-ranked teams in the world. They have had their romantic moments in cricketing world, but those have been too few so far. Their win over West Indies was one such occasion and they'd like to repeat that kind of feat over and over. However, it is not going to be easy.
In the first match, their batsmen, especially their openers did a brilliant job of not only to get them to a flying start, but also of taking the game away from the hosts. However, their dismissal opened up the flood gates as none of their middle-order batsmen could capitalize on the start that K O'Brien and Paul Stirling had provided.
